Digital Skills Education
You don’t know what you don’t know. So how will you learn?
Start today with your very own digital skills coach.
I think back to the beginning of my own digital journey. What steps have helped me get to this point?
For starters, technology has evolved from floppy disks, blockbuster videos and brick-size phones to social sharing, online streaming and affordable cine-line cameras. Accessing digital tools and not being afraid to use them is an important part of digital learning. Consider, do you want to access better resources or do you want to get better with the resources you can already access? I run workshops and digital programmes that cater for both sides of the equation, ranging from smartphone filming to large scale film projects.
I believe learning should be fun. Our attention is naturally drawn towards what we enjoy and what we care about, so let’s use that! If you want to be a better digital storyteller, what stories interest you? If you want to be a better video editor, what kind of content inspires you the most? I design my sessions to reach the end goal via the most engaging route and if there is one thing I love to hear from my trainees, it is, “I never thought I could do that!”
In the last 12 months I have trained heritage volunteers, college students, freelancers, marketing directors and business owners about communicating with digital content. All sessions are hands on, assignment-led and can be tailored to your own digital goals.
